2024 NAIA, JUCO, and USports Week 9 Wrap

The usual suspects were at it again in NAIA action, with Georgia Martell starring between the sticks for Cumberlands and Gaby Sarkis banging home goals for Jamestown, whilst Holly Johnstone also popped up with a goal for Midway. The Northeast crew were once again firing in NJCAA Division II, as were Montana-Rose Currey and Sophie Abbott for Johnson County and Morgan Stanton for Heartland. Meanwhile, NJCAA Division I action saw Giselle Heck find the back of the net for Laramie County as the Golden Eagles wrapped up their regular season earlier than most.

Briar Cliff (IA) (Tamzin Hilton)

This week: defeated Midland 2-1

Tamzin Hilton started in Briar Cliff’s win over Midland, notching two shots with one on target in 25 minutes of playing time.

Corban (Ava Hayes)

This week: drew 1-1 with Evergreen (WA); drew 1-1 with Northwest (WA)

Ava Hayes played every minute of the weekend for Corban, making four saves against Evergreen and five saves against Northwest.

Cumberlands (Ky.) (Georgia Martell)

This week: defeated Campbellsville (KY) 1-0

Georgia Martell played the full 90 minutes in Cumberlands’ win over Campbellsville, making five saves.

Jamestown (N.D.) (Olivia Cullen, Gaby Sarkis)

This week: defeated Missouri Baptist 3-0; lost 4-0 to Columbia (MO)

Olivia Cullen started both games for Jamestown this week, playing 59 minutes against Missouri Baptist and 40 minutes in the loss to Columbia. Gaby Sarkis also started both games, banging home two goals in 73 minutes against Missouri Baptist and tallying two shots with one on target in 63 minutes against Columbia.

Ellen Gaudry played every minute of the weekend for Rocky Mountain this week, tallying a shot against Southern Oregon.
