It wasn’t the most eventful week for the Australians in college this week, but there were still a couple of players doing some great things. Isabel Hodgson was the undoubted star of the week, tallying goals and assists throughout the weekend. Elsewhere, Beattie Goad and Alex Huynh each made unexpected impacts on games.
Isabel Hodgson was the undoubted star of the week amongst the Australians. Bombing forward from her right back position, the South Australian tallied an assist in East Tennessee State’s 3-1 win over Alabama A&M, setting herself up for a huge performance in a 7-0 drubbing of South Carolina State. Isabel opened the scoring for the Buccaneers inside 20 minutes, and then tallied a pair of assists late on as East Tennessee State banged in one goal after another in what proved to be an absolute demolition job leading into conference play next week.
So proud of @ETSUWSoccer coming away with a win! So happy to get on the goal sheet ⚽️💙💛

Alex Huynh has become a rock at the back for Troy this season, but a move up field almost paid dividends as the senior went agonisingly close to scoring her first career goal. Alex spent the first half playing in an attacking midfield role before reverting to a defensive role in Troy’s 3-0 win over Appalachian State, but tallied 4 shots in a 1-1 draw with Arkansas State, tallying two on target including a free kick that was denied by the fingertips of the goalkeeper.
